ABOUT
The Brethren are a powerhouse collective of seasoned musicians whose chemistry has been forged on stages across the world. Featuring Paul DeVincenzo (bass), David Scalia (drums & percussion), Joey McClellan (guitar & vocals), and Dave “Moose” Sherman (keys & vocals), the band brings a wealth of experience and deep musical synergy to every note they play.
Best known as Elle King’s backing band since 2015, The Brethren have spent nearly a decade touring globally, shaping the sound behind King’s raw and electrifying performances. But their résumés extend far beyond.
Guitarist and vocalist Joey McClellan is also a member of Midlake and has played alongside Rufus Wainwright and Israel Nash. Bassist Paul DeVincenzo has recorded and performed with New Politics and The Veronicas, while drummer David Scalia has brought his dynamic energy to both live and studio settings with artists like White Rabbits, Theo Katzman, Sky Ferreira, and Miranda Lambert. Meanwhile, keyboardist Dave “Moose” Sherman has added his signature touch to projects with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Valerie June, and Kevin Morby.
Now rooted in Nashville, The Brethren are stepping into the spotlight, currently working on their highly anticipated debut album from their own studio, which will be include their first single, “Turn Me On My Own,” along with collaborations featuring some of their favorite singers as guest vocalists. Beyond their own music, they’re also writing, recording, and producing for other artists, shaping the next wave of sound with their distinctive blend of rock, soul, and cinematic storytelling. Their production work includes The Band Loula’s 2024 release of "Every Day Will Be Like a Holiday."
With a deep history of collaboration and an undeniable musical bond, The Brethren are more than just a band—they’re a force of nature ready to make their mark.
